Holiday Cheer

The French are worse than Americans at asking for monetary donations around the holidays. Since one has to bag one's own groceries here, since it is "the holidays," there are small girls (around 12 years old) dressed as little police officers who volunteer to bag one's groceries for a monetary donation for what I assume is the French equivalent of the Salvation Army. The only thing is, they bag your groceries whether you want them to are not and are then expected to donate. I don't think so. I told the girl I didn't need a bag for my apple and cheese.
